Groundbreaking Ceremony to officially launch construction of new Central Bank of Samoa Offsite Building.
(Press Release) The construction of the new Central Bank of Samoa (CBS) Offsite Building was officially launched today with a groundbreaking ceremony at its Ululoloa Compound. This project is part of the Central Bank’s Business Continuity Plans given the impact of climate change and an array of global shocks upon our country.
The Prime Minister, Hon. Fiame Dr. Naomi Mataafa, delivered the keynote address to officially launch the commencement of the construction work.
Following a rigorous procurement process by the Government Tenders Board, the contract was awarded to a local company, APEX Pacific Solutions Ltd. The total cost of the new three-story building is SAT31 million and construction is expected to take 20 months to complete.
The design of the building was done by SUCON Consultancy Ltd who will also be responsible for supervising the Construction Works for the new building.
